TRANSFORM MANDALAS
By combining visual arts with the work of the Espiral Nucleus for the prevention and combat of violence, the project will include workshops that incorporate art, painting, and play, as well as active listening and dialogue so that children can develop resilience, autonomy, and skills in recognizing feelings and anxieties. Working in this way, the experiences lived throughout the project will help to give new meaning to the traumas and socio-emotional impacts caused by situations of violence experienced by these children.

At the end, a collective graffiti will be produced that represents the group and their relationship with the space they inhabit. In addition, we will offer individual clinical care to children selected throughout the project who need this support.
Project Objectives
In the 2023 report, we can assess that up to June 2022, the Disque 100 hotline received 197,401 reports of violence against children up to 9 years old, compared to 186,862 in the previous year, with most cases occurring in the domestic environment and against black or brown victims. Regarding the number of victims of human trafficking in Brazil in 2022, there is no official data, but between January 2020 and June 2021, 301 cases were registered, 50.1% of which involved children and adolescents as victims. In this way, the project contributes to achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda in Brazil in SDG 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

How does it work in practice?
The project can be carried out in different durations: 2 months, 4 months, 6 months or in more than one cycle, with the possibility of continuity according to the bond established with the partner institution.
In each cycle, we serve groups of up to 10 children (there may be more than one group per institution), allowing for individualized monitoring and strengthening the bonds within the group.
The meetings are weekly, lasting an average of 1 hour and 30 minutes, and aim to activate protective factors, expand the children's emotional repertoire and build a new perspective on individual commitment to the prevention of violence.
In addition to meetings with the children, the project also includes:
-
An open closing event for families, educators, and the community;
-
Openings for brief psychological support, offered throughout the work cycle (number to be defined according to the number of participants);
-
Indirect impact on educators and families, strengthening the child's protection network.
