WHO WE ARE

We are Núcleo Espiral, a Civil Society Organization (CSO) that has been working since 2008 in the prevention of violence against children and adolescents, promoting care, listening, strengthening bonds and mental health.

We work with children, adolescents, families, and professionals in the protection network, developing socio-educational projects, vocational training, and psychological assistance, based on the Espiral Method, a unique approach focused on resilience and violence prevention.

Our story and performance

Since 2008, Núcleo Espiral has been developing studies, research, and practices on violence, trauma, resilience, and human development, seeking to transform care into concrete action for violence prevention.

The organization was founded in 2008 by psychologist Neusa Sauaia and operates using its own method, developed during her master's research, which integrates theory, experience, and practice to strengthen emotional and social resources.

Our work is committed to promoting rights, respecting human dignity, and building safe spaces for care.

ESPIRAL METHOD

The Espiral Method is the basis of all programs, projects, and training at the Espiral Center.

It was developed to activate protective factors, strengthen resilience, and support individuals and communities in preventing violence.

Through this method, we seek to reduce the impacts of physical and emotional violence and promote processes of individual and collective transformation.

The 5 pillars of the Espiral Method

01 RESILIENCE

Developing personal resources to cope with violence, helping to heal pain and transforming it into strength.

02 EXPERIENCE

Experiencing practical exercises, reflecting on and revisiting one's own life experiences to broaden self-knowledge.

Working with the body in the present moment, helping to integrate more personal strength and support.

03 BODY

04 GROUP

It is with others that limits, rules, respect, and empathy are practiced. Socialization can be recovered and rebuilt.

05 SYMBOL

Our work is based on the meaning of each proposal, in a Jungian symbolic dimension.
It is much more than performing a task; it is living a new experience in an environment of acceptance and love.

AREA OF EXPERTISE

We currently have projects being developed in the Campo Limpo region, and thanks to the great success achieved in these more than 7 years working specifically in this region, we would like your help to maintain the institution's structure and thus be able to take the project to other regions that need this work.

Our intention is to expand this work to new regions of the state of São Paulo, and meet a greater demand for vulnerable children and adolescents. We believe that trauma is not destiny, therefore the violence inflicted upon them does not define them! If people feel heard, respected, and have their rights recognized and guaranteed, this cycle of violence can be broken.

We promote one of the most important pillars of the Núcleo Espiral: resilience.

In 2019 alone, 173 children from five different institutions were directly served.

We work with everyone who works directly or indirectly with children and adolescents. The Espiral Nucleus considers educators not only family members or social workers who work directly with young people, but also cleaning staff, cooks, security guards, and any other adults who work in the institutions, recognizing the importance these professionals have in the physical, cognitive, and emotional development of children and adolescents. children. Thus, socio-educational groups are held with family members and professionals from CCAs (Community Centers for Children and Adolescents) and other institutions, offering activities that allow these educators to acquire knowledge and information on topics such as: development, violence, resilience, aggression, limits, discipline, mental health, trauma, resources, etc. In total, 113 adults were served in 2019, including 48 educators from institutions and 65 family members from five different institutions.

In addition to the socio-educational work carried out with institutional communities, the Espiral Center performs two other types of work: Research and Psychological Assistance.
